Hello! I'm new here.

I just thought I'd wade in to this debate in my delicate ballet slippers, if I may.

If I may speak frankly, romcoms are the work of the devil.

Too much floppy hair, too many cutesy side characters for my taste.

And such predictable casting!

Imagine how 4 Weddings and a Funeral could have been souped up had Gary Oldman or Robert Carlyle played the lead.

Hugh Grant wasn't actually the first choice for Four Weddings. Noted stage actor Alex Jennings was attached to the project for quite a while but it was delayed and he had a chance to take his RSC Hamlet to New York so... I think he gets a bit fed up with being asked about it in interviews (he's done some good stuff on film and tv but he's not had any more opportunities like that).

I love Hugh though so Four Weddings worked just fine for me.

My pet hate has always been war films, especially with all men starring, but have to admit to enjoying Saving Private Ryan. Like Victorian styled films , or anything done around the 1930s , has always interested me, the clothes, the Art Deco, love it all.

I hope this is not a slur on the FANTASTIC David T! How I love him in Mary Poppins singing "Lordly is the Life I Lead" (Have I got that right?) Not knowing what is about to hit him!

"I've come a long way you know!" "Equally long way to go back..."

It is actually very easy - pm me if you want more details.
Having looked at thebox.bz I see that Alfresco is now also available there!

I meant no disrespect towards Mr Grant, dear Captain Waggett. I'm sure he's an excellent fellow.
