Me, but I'm a sucker for cheap sentiment! I do think Notting Hill is wonderful, actually.

I don't like Austen-type costume dramas much at all. Gainsborough Melodramas were far better at that whole thing!

I wouldn't have normally considered going to the cinema to see a Jane Austen based film, but when my new multi-screen Odeon opened they were showing all films for a quid.

I picked "Emma" with Gwyneth Paltrow and Jeremy Northam. It was fantastic on the big screen. Loses a huge amount watched on TV.

I wouldn't ever ever sit through a Lord of the Rings type ever again ever ever ever.

Ah Yes, the Soviet Union. All them wheatfields and ballet in the evenings

I like Hugh Grant and found Four Weddings hilarious at the time and nearly as funny when I saw it again recently. Ditto Love, Actually. I'm not an action/car chase fan but then I'm not the target audience...

I hate anything which is romantic, which rules out a lot of films for me. However, I don`t mind a little romance in with the story as long is its not too overwhelming and takes up the entire two hours.

I am with you on romantic films,but I do have a soft spot for Dr Zhivago - maybe because it is directed by Lean,or it's the music,the epic sweep....I don't know!

Actually, I'm a sucker for romatic comedy when it is done right. Doris Day/Rock Hudson movies - love 'em.

All men leak.

I agree with you.

Any film which has Hugh 'I-do-exactly-the-same-character-in-every-film' Grant.

Yet again a 100% with you Dave!.........I will not watch anything with Hugh Grant in it, though I don't mind Ewan McGregor, he dosen't seem to be 'stuck up'!

I'm also not into Costume dramas from previous Centuries as such, like 'Remains of the day', 'Emma', etc;

Though I do like Dramas set in the early/mid part of the 20th Century, such as Gosford Park and Vera Drake

Along the same lines as the Hugh Grant posts above, I absolutely refuse to watch anything with Emma Thompson in it whether it's a "bints in bustles" type affair or anything more modern.

She always seems so pleased with her own acting even while doing it that she completely rubs me up the wrong way and I get so furious that I can't concentrate on what's actually going on in the film.
