Young Frankenstein, The Elephant Man. Could I include Life Of Brian, it may have been released in 1979 according to my film guides but I remember seeing in in the cinema in 1980.
Being There was anotthe fabolous film and our last chance of seeing Sellers in anything decent after years of dross apart from the Pink Panther franchise. |

Ahh... the 80's.
I really like Penfolds choice Excalibur that would be a close one and the Draughtman's Contract would be another as well but I think the best one for me is - Terry Gilliam's Brazil for it's scope, audacity and cleverness - Gilliam lately has been getting it wrong but his projects are usually so convoluted it's easily to see why he could have a few misses but this one he gets sooo.. right it's immensely re-watchable. Can it be viewed as a metaphorical analysis of London? ![]() Simon Last edited by Third Man; 15-06-2008 at 11:31 AM.. |
