Difficult to narrow it down to one and it will keep changing anyway. For the time being - Mona Lisa

Thats the joke that killed the Music Hall !

Young Frankenstein, The Elephant Man. Could I include Life Of Brian, it may have been released in 1979 according to my film guides but I remember seeing in in the cinema in 1980.

Being There was anotthe fabolous film and our last chance of seeing Sellers in anything decent after years of dross apart from the Pink Panther franchise.

I remember a lot of terrific films from the 80s. But off the top of my head:

A Fish Called Wanda
Without a Clue
1984
My Beautiful Laundrette
Sid and Nancy
Withnail and I

I'm sure there are many more...

I also really liked The Krays and Let Him Have it but I don't know if they were 80s or 90s.

a lot of titles put me off ever wanting to see a film wonder if others are like that too, all the ones on that list for example, and Educating Rita , never saw one.

Ahh... the 80's.

I really like Penfolds choice Excalibur that would be a close one and the Draughtman's Contract would be another as well but I think the best one for me is - Terry Gilliam's Brazil for it's scope, audacity and cleverness - Gilliam lately has been getting it wrong but his projects are usually so convoluted it's easily to see why he could have a few misses but this one he gets sooo.. right it's immensely re-watchable.

Can it be viewed as a metaphorical analysis of London?
