When Tim hears the scream while climbing on Gibraltar and turns to the camera for the first time.
I'd been working in the States without any media access at all and when I finally saw the movie in the cinema I was amazed.I'd been reading Fleming's Bond movies for years but could never picture Bond's face.
Suddenly I knew that was what Bond looked like.

i agree ,shame that the guy who played james bond in a more serious way so well , inadvertantly became the most unpopular for his efforts

That makes 3 of us .... I much prefer Tim to Pierce Brosnan in the role. Ironic that Daniel Craig gets BAFTA nominated for trying (and failing in James view IIRC) to do something similar.

my opinion of Craig as Bond is not high I'll admit..I just feel that he isn't an Old Etonian Naval Commander with a golf handicap of 9 and isn't capable of becoming that character. Its not my only problem with Casino Royale of course..
I have no interest In Bond as Bourne wannabe

I can see where you are coming from James .... it will be interesting (for me anyway) to see how the character plays in QOS.

ps - did you like the Tim picture?

My favourite Bond film is Diamonds are forever. It has everything-the return of Sean Connery, good storyline, great characters, exotic locations, and brilliant stunts.
Yet the iconic image is still the immortal introductory exchange with Pussy Galore which ends with........."I musht be dreaming"...........added to which Connery is attired in silver grey three piece whistle and black Fred Perry shirt.

I do agree that Timothy Dalton could have made the role his own.
Pearce Brosnan just too effeminate for the role in my opinion. Cast from that aweful character Remington Steele,he continued in similar smug style without achieving that quintessential Bond persona, amply delivered by Connery, Lazenby and Dalton.
Whilst I liked Rog in the Saint, I frankly thought he was too old to be convincing as 007.

Default The Union Flag

As OUR man goes off the mountainside, the Parachute unfurls into The UNION FLAG! I sat and watched this in a small cinema in a small town in Chino Hills Ca. When this happened, the whole American audience cheered and whooped (as they do) and I just felt a sense of pride, a tingling sense of pride, what a great piece of cinema.

BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR...YOU MAY GET IT!
