I wonder if there will ever be a proper DVD release of this superb chiller from Hammer?

This film has become something of a minor cult classic, though sadly neglected for many years.

The 'Hammer Film Collection' released it on a compilation set, with many complaining of a 'greenish tint' in the set. Thankfully my own copy was unaffected.

There have been quite a few reviews for this superb chiller in recent years, memorable for it's outstanding sharp, crisp and atmospheric black & white photography-superbly photographed in fact with it's stunning outdoor snow scenes during the freezing British Winter of 1962-63!

Asylum close-ups are good of Janet's Mother (Isla Cameron) and 'Ghost Woman' (Clytie Jessop). Hammer have had individual releases for 'The Nanny' and 'Fanatic' so let's see it for this gem please.

Love this film! I've got it in the Hammer box set with "Brides of Dracula," "Curse of the Werewolf," etc. "Nightmare" is definitely an underrated gem.
