Last night's viewing consisted of Park Plaza 605 from 1953 starring Tom Conway, Eva Bartok, Joy Shelton, Anton Diffring, Carl Jaffe, Frederick Schiller, Sid James, Richard Wattis, Robert Adair, Michael Balfour, Terence Alexander, Edwin Richfield, Martin Boddey, Sam Kydd and Richard Marner.
Tom Conway plays American private detective Norman Conquest who finds himself involved in tracking down some stolen diamonds which involves a gang of communists and a gang Nazi sympathisers.
An enjoyable britis b-film with Tom Conway a delight as is Eva Bartok who manages to hoodwink him.
Lastly was The Brothers from 1947 starring Patricia Roc, Duncan macrae, Maxwell Reed, Finlay Currie, Will Fyffe, John Laurie, Andrew Crawford, Morland Graham, Megs Jenkins, James Woodburn and David McAllister.
Patricia Roc plays Mary Lawson played by the lovely Patricia Roc plays an orphan who goes to work as a Servant for the Macrae family headed by Finlay Currie who plays Hector Macrae. There is a long established feud between the Macrae clan and the McFarish clan. On Mary's arrival she is warned to stay away from the McFarish clan and especially Willie McFarish played by Andrew Crawford. But she ignores this and starts a friendship with Willie which eventually leads to tragic consequences. Soon both brothers Fergus Macrae played by Maxwell Reed and John Macrae played by Duncan Macrae are vying for Mary's affections.
The film is set in the remote Isle of Skye and adds to the wonderful eerieness of the film. A well made drama film.
