I watched True Crime: The 30 Year Secret about the Lesley Molseed murder in 1976 and the subsequent miscarriage of justice that saw Stefan Kiszko serve 16 years in prison for a murder he didn't commit.
It was the very best account of the case that I have ever seen with interviews from Lesley's family and also the family of the real perpetrator, Ronald Castree.

DS x.

Watched Sidney Hayers supernatural thriller " Night of the Eagle " starring Peter Wyngarde in a tale of witchcraft and mysticism.

Personally I was disappointed by the film, found it very slow going.

Me watched a 1 hour 16mm film with the good old projector out.
Very enjoyable film in which good old Eddie Waring takes us on a 1971 musical trip of George Formby song clips.
Classic!

Default There Will be Blood

There Will Be Blood

A mesmerizing account of the rush for oil in turn of the century America.
Day Lewis is quite simply(eccentrically) extraordinary, probably Britains finest
modern day actor ,credit also to the director Paul Thomas Anderson for a beautifully shot and acted film

Sitting Target

A strong cast and it gets underway in fine fashion with a spectacular prison break, but after that the plot becomes episodic and there's little character depth to the supporting cast.

Watched John Loder in " The Brighton Strangler " a wartime tale of life imitating art, good fun and considering when it was made ( 1945 ) quite menacing also features the ever excellent Miles Mander

The Bank Job - great heist flick made even better because you really believed it could happen (and it did). Nice to see Peter Bowles getting a good character part in a big screen film and David Suchet was on great form.

Thats the joke that killed the Music Hall !

Watched two episodes of Yes, Prime Minister from my new box set. It's amazing how relevant the story lines are to today's politics!

Default Target for Today

A WW2 propaganda film about the USAAF B17s and B24s on missions to Germany. Slightly cringe making when you get the 'The Germans do their best but they're not really that good' when in fact you know in reality it took huge courage for the bomber crews, RAF & US to go up time after time as the Germans were taking a huge toll!!

Interesting to watch though with all the period footage.

.....You couldn't hear it, if they were shooting at me with howitzers!

How does that compare with the Harry Watt documentary Target for Tonight (1941)?

Target for Tonight won a special honorary Oscar but is obviously strong propaganda and is obviously faked in a lot of way. Bombing just wasn't that accurate in 1941
