The Happy Family (1952) DVD-R. This splendid comedy is the perfect fare for a wet Sunday afternoon. The always excellent Stanley Holloway and Kathleen Harrison star as the Lords, owners of a corner shop preventing completion of the Festival of Britain complex. A host of welcome faces appear including George Cole and Naunton Wayne, with Dandy Nichols memorable as a batty aunt.

Seperate Tables: Separate Tables (1958)
Fifty years old now. Niven's performance was a bit more hammy than I remember it, but still a great film. |

The Psychopath (1966) (DVD-R). Thanks to a fellow 'Britmovian' I finally got to see this effective and quite creepy horror come murder mystery from Amicus, directed by Freddie Francis. Dogged Inspector Patrick Wymark is on the case following a trail of corpses, while Margaret Johnson excells at batty. Sadly another of the Amicus output that never gets a TV screening and a DVD release would be welcomed.
