The opening scenes of EMI's pressing plant were good as were the graphics,a sad end however to a troubled genius, the closing credits revealed how he was shafted over his royalties.
It was certainly an 'experience' for me also scenesixty!..........I saw it at the Newham Showcase near Beckton, I usually enjoy seeing period fashions too and I loved the stripy Cardigans 'Patrick Pink' wore, proper Mod stuff, had to laugh when Heinz had Baked Beans thrown over his Lame' Suit!

You may have seen it but the BBC Arena programme about Joe Meek is worth looking out for, has interviews with Joe's Brother, Father, and Heinz

Hi Mark thank's for yours-thought Pam Ferris played the landlady wee though I suspect she would have been a lot more intolerant in reality! Heinz must have initially slept with Joe to further his career because in reality he'd had a few girls later on! Quite horrible how Joe was used by a lot of people, when genuinely he loved his music,so sad..

I have a cineworld pass so i wanted to see it there

i sent an e-mail to find out which cineworld cinema was showing it in London and this was the reply

Thank you for contacting Cineworld.

We are limited to the amount of films we can screen there at any one time. the film that you have made a request for in your email 'Telstar' is not likey to be screened at any London Cineworld.
It has been released on limmited to Sheffield and Glasgow RST only.
We have had to sign a contract guaranteeing a length of time that we will screen blockbuster films for, so in turn this reduces the overall screens we are able to screen the smaller films
on.

I do apologise for any disappointment this has caused.

It would bwell worth the admission price alone to see it elswhere in London; The Vue cinemas are showing it. Best.

I watched it today and thought it pretty dreadful. The script and the direction were passable but the actors seem to have been trawled from BBC3/CH4 - tho the lead and Kevin Spacey gamely tried to lift it above tv-movie fare.

Hi.
I saw it. Remarkable story. But have mixed views on the film. Sme good performances but some I am not sure about. Liked the music.

(Useless information: The public toilets in Madras Place did not look like that. I used to live in Madras Place only yards from them. But that part of the story is distasteful, but necessary to the plot.)

Hi.
Just seen your message. Visiting public toilets is not a hobby of mine. I left Madras Place in 1950. Last time I walked by them was in the 1990's. I avoided them like the plague, in case I was mugged. Now seeing the film, I shall be too embarrassed and even more frightened to enter them.

I watched this film the other night. And I thought it was very good indeed.
