Hi just thought I would share my ebay buying experience of No Love For Johnnie I bought the DVD which was a Greek newspaper freebie from would you believe it a Greek !!! calling himself GREEKMARKET on Ebay and I paid a fiver for it, when it arrived it was in a very tatty sleeve and the dvd was marked and scratched the seller had described it as new, after complaining a few times he said he would send me a replacement disc on receipt of the original, at this point I started a claim on paypal I duly posted it off and he said he had never got it, eventually he posted me another disc which arrived today.
Upon checking the disc it was worse than the original one covered in a multitude of scratches and dirty and with finger marks all over it perhaps he was getting back at me I don't know but it was the worse disc I have ever received.
However I have now informed Paypal to escalate the dispute so he will have to deal with them and not me.
Should I also leave him neg feedback ??????????????

I have had several of those Greek promo discs and never had a problem. The seller I normally use is this one .... 123789stelios .... he is very reliable and easy to deal with, and he has No Love For Johnnie as well.

Hi it looks like I just picked a bad seller and he has certainly given me some grief if I get my money back I will buy a copy from the seller recommended I just hate bad ebay sellers he had every opportunity to put things right but chose to make things worse instead.

I have found Paypal to be not very good at assisting in a case like this.
Annoying as it is sometimes it's best just to put it down to experience and move on - and YES, give negative feedback.
I did this and reported a seller to E-Bay. I also marked him down as a favourite seller so that anytime he put something new up I would be notified, and every time he did I complained to E-Bay as it was the same misleading description - until he eventually stopped trading (at least under that name).

DPGMEL, could you please clarify what the aspect ratio is? It says full screen. I seem to recall this film was shot in 2.35:1.

Yes I will have to lose out on this one he sent me a used disc instead of a new one I then returned this he said he had not got it but as a goodwill he then sent me a second disc which was in a worse state than the first one when I claimed on paypal he asked for the disc back I had already spent a fortune on postage so it was just not worth it. so I left him neg feedback warning others that he sends sh goods out for new i just hate ars***holes like this

Dammit.

NO LOVE FOR JOHNNIE is one of Britain's better films of the time, and maybe one of Britain's best movies ever.

Why are people forced to scramble for Greek knock-offs? (yep, I have one, and I'm grateful).

But -- where are the UK copyright owners? Are ye daft, blind or dead? There is an audience for this movie. Most of today's JOHNNIE fans weren't even born when it was made 48 years ago, but the movie's incisive take on politics is very relevant.

The acting is very good, and the writing is timeless. I swear that UK would buy 5,000 DVDs on release, and USA and Canada would take 20,000 more, given a modest promotion.
