Does anyone know what the first British movie version of a TV series migght have been? There must have been something before Hammer's version of the Quatermass Experiment.

Hi.
1953: The Little Red Monkey; Made into a fearure film in 1955 under the title of The Case of the Red Monkey. It starred Richard Conte and Rona Anderson. It also had a popular theme tune. Among its versions was by the Take It From Here radio comedy cast.

1954: Johnny Your Wanted. Made into a feature film in 1955. Both television and cinema productions starred John Slater.

That is for starters. I know there have been films based on radio programmes such as PC 49, The Huggets, Dick Barton Special Agent and even ITMA.
