This was one of a few pre-Hammer films that Designer Bernard Robinson and Cinematographer Jack Asher collaborated on (the others were "Albert R.N." & "Reach For The Sky") and I recall, among other scenes, a brief graveyard scene that had the distinct atmosphere that would be a Hammer trademark a few years later.

I think the narrator of this fine film is unfortunately uncredited.

TGDY must be one of my favourite 50's films, a gripping story well told

Were Gloria Graham,RIchard Basehart and John Ireland based over here at the time,or were they shipped over especially? The guy who played GG's lover,I'm sure was in Reach For The Sky?

Richard Basehart was in Europe a lot during this period, he made several European films including Fellini's excellent La Strada. Gloria had gained a reputation as being 'difficult' which resulted in her Hollywood career being derailed on a few occasions. It was during one of these periods that she made TGDY, but returned to Hollywood and considerable acclaim for several fine performances. John Ireland's US career as a leading man was on the wane at that time and he was turning more to TV shows, so he was probably happy to take on a leading role in a UK feature. His career post TGDY was mainly on TV, in B-movies and in European productions. The guy playing GG's lover was Lee Patterson, a familiar face in UK movies inc RFTS.

I saw this some time back, and was not that impressed despite the presence of the young Joan Collins, Gloria Graheme and Laurence Harvey's "psycho-cad". Thought it was more soap opera than crime flick.

If I had closed my eyes I could have imagined Vincent Price as the narrator. That hypnotic voice

He is credited with a number of narratives from the 50s and 60s
