Having just thoroughly enjoyed the book, I'm intrigued to know what people might think of the film (Tony Richardson, 1977). Sad has-been trying to relive the glory days of Tom Jones or forgotten masterpiece?

It probably should not be compared to "Tom Jones," which is probably the superior film, but on its own merits, I enjoyed it.

Having read Henry Fielding in English Lit class in college, I actually enjoyed his "Joseph Andrews" much better than his "Tom Jones." If for no other reason, than the former is significantly shorter than the latter.
