Here's an Ealing offering on an aviation theme, 'Man in the Sky' 1956 with Jack Hawkins and Elizabeth Sellars. Not bad at all.

You're probably thinking of The Runaway Bus (1954)

Look out for the film THE IRON MAIDEN (1962). There are some nice shots of an RAF V-bomber. Not sure what type though. The actual film is about a traction engine!

Default Flight Into Hell

Do any of you aviation buffs out there know where I could get a copy of this Australian true story? It is listed on Amazon America as out of stock and all attempts to track it down have so far failed. Any help much appreciated. Mike

Not feature films, but on the same subject: British public information films like Wing to Wing (1951) and Wonder Jet (1950) and Into the Blue (1950). There are a few on www.internet archive.org.

Default Ordered SOUND BARRIER from Amazon USA

I was able to place an order for SOUND BARRIER with an "unknown release date" for the Region-1 disk. This is the same status that AMOLAD is in, DR SYN, HEART IS A LONELY HUNTER, and a dozen other 'wants'. In other words, don't hold yer breath... but then again, the rather dreadful PANIC IN NEEDLE PARK made it into DVD production, although BOBBY DEERFIELD didn't.

(Poor Marthe - if only she'd been a chic heroin junkie instead of a leukemia victim!)

Although she should have no complaints - if Jimmy and Marlene can't get NO HIGHWAY onto DVD, what chance does Ms. Keller have with a mere Pacino?

The best aviation themed film has to be George Formby in It's In The Air

Are you thinking of "High Flight" with Ray Milland? That featured the Hawker Hunter and I think maybe the Swift. It comes up on TCM Canada next month so I have it circled.

I think if you look further up the thread, that question has already been answered as "Conflict of Wings"

Conflict of Wings (1954)

The IMDb tells us that she did various TV series and tV movies and a Tony for a Broadway show. Then she did small roles a few other films including Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life (2003)
