Sleuth edges out The Italian Job; now there's a surprise.

Default funeral in Berlin

I have never understood why this one never gets the recognition I think it deserves. I think it's a far better film than the much-praised Ipcress File.
"Funeral in Berlin" is a fantastic film, one of the best spy films of the era in my opinion! The dialogue and visuals are superb, crumbling Berlin never looked finer! I went to see it last year on the big screen at the NFT in London during a short Michael Caine season, the cinema was full to capacity and the film went down really well, very enjoyable. Incidentally the Ipcress File screened during the same season, that looked mighty fine on the big screen as well. As for Billion Dollar Brain! Ooops!

Default Too Many..............

'Funeral in Berlin' has to be up there, 'Zulu' of course and what about the 'Battle of Britain'?

Too many, such a great actor and not a Hollywood 'Luvy'.

Maybe he should have been...........nah, we love you 'Just the way you are'...!

.....You couldn't hear it, if they were shooting at me with howitzers!

That film made me want to go and see Berlin when I was a little kid and I think the plot twists and turns brilliantly and it just seems to have more depth than the Ipcress File. And do you know what? I used to think the same as you about Billion Dollar Brain, but I really don't think it's that bad now, if you ignore the last twenty minutes or so of course, but it certainly doesn't fit in with the first two.

OK - he didn't star in it (nobobody did, there were a dozen top drawer "co-stars") but what about "The Wrong Box"? (circa 1967.

I would have voted for Sleuth...we share the same taste in Cravats and Blazers!

There's no need to kneel, I'm a very democratic sort of lord.
