It does seem ironic that just as the Union is shuddering towards break-up, an anti-monarchist Dame is feted for portraying the Queen of Great Britain in the nation that so detested the British Empire that it financially oversaw it's demise in the 1940's and 1950's, sympathised with real-life Irish struggles for freedom in the 1960's and 1970's and stimulated Bravehearts to don woad so as to regain their freedom in the 1990's......
