I was looking for the same information & just stumbled upon this. That's one great image! And this is one great forum! Would anyone know which movies the different set seen in the backlot were built for (besides The Dirty Dozen's Chateau of course)? I see two other sets, for which I first found the following images of "the french street" on the British Pathe website: Frank Ifield on set - 21/10/1965 I also know that the small village square (with a couple of large trees in the middle, on the top left of the aerial picture) was first used six (!) months after this picture was taken on The Prisoner TV show, but I presume it was built for something else prior to this. Any help would be appreciated, thanks. |

Thanks Klark. Are those your pictures? I was trying to find more info on the "history" of these sets. |

My dad was a manager there from 1975-1986. They sold bits off to Geest (banana mob) and leased (I believe) quite a bit to Sainsbury's. It's no longer Christian Salvesens, but the cold stores they built are used by another distribution company. |
