    Looking though my old betatapes

    I came across a the BBC 'Limehouse story could anyone give me details on this.

    Could you possibly mean THE LIME GROVE STORY ? This was a day of programmes to mark the occasion of the closing of the BBC facility at Lime Grove (Shepherd's Bush, London.)



    It had formerly been the old Gaumont British film studios before being taken over by the Beeb. The original 39 Steps had been filmed there by Hitchcock. It was quite unique as a studio because, being at the end of a suburban street it was built upwards, rather than across a wide area and, IIRC had stages on different levels.



    Subsequent to the closure the studios were demolished, and the site redeveloped for housing. [img]style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/no.gif[/img]
