A poll made in Britain, it makes total sense.

Don't tell me you want a quota system on the movies?

Sorry for the misunderstanding, Gibbie, but the original thread in this topic mentioned "the 100 better war films", not "British war films", so I was convinced that movies from all around the world were considered. It's not a question of quotas

This; like most of Ch4's output in recent years; was a total ****ing joke.

Saving Ryan's naffing Privates as No1?!?!?!? Steven Poxy Spielberg, do me a favour.

Not happy with the result, eh? Well I'm just sorry that Zulu didn't make it to number 1, but then I'm a complete obsessive! What do you think should lhave won, then, edgar?

What's wrong with Steven Spielberg? Admittedly,he is overdue for the seminal blockbusters he is famous for,he has made duds. So what? He is the most successful film director in cinema history,he brought work to our film industry (SPR was mostly filmed in Hertfordshire) and he hits the nerve of what filmgoers want. He puts bums on seats, and at the end of the day, that is aim of any film maker.

Well, the only movie of his I like is "Duel".....and that was made for tv!

I agree he is probably the most commercially successful director but his movies fail to interest me or capture my imagination, so from that point of view he is a bit of a flop (give me the likes of Val Guest anyday!)
