name='Steve Crook']Ah yes, that was it. But I don't remember it being very big either.

And does Nottingham have more pubs per staggered mile than any other city? It certainly has quite a lot. Or did when I was last there, but that was a while ago now

We always end up at The Trip after the Saturday Gala of the British Silent Film Weekend...it has 3 or four smallish rooms, and can hold 30-40...though I wouldn't say comfortably. Great beer though. Founded 1189 I think...what was it like when it first opened Steve??

Not sure I remember that far back. The memory begins to go as you get as ancient as I am. The blessing is that you can't remember what your memory used to be like

name='Dave Rattigan']The Liverpool Philharmonic Hall is unusual as a cinema; not historically, but nowadays, as it has the oldest and/or largest (if not only) art deco screen of its kind, that rises out of the stage at the start of every performance, and also has Britain's only remaining resident cinema organist, so far as I know.
I have seen the screen rising, quite a sight. However just to correct the second point, the Odeon Leicester Square has a resident organist,Donald Mackenzie who plays on the beautiful Compton Organ with its spellbinding changing colours.
