It's not surprising that Ringo has given up signing memorabilia and autographs, if that's the way he gets treated.

While working in the projection booth screening "This is New Zealand" - which was same principle as 3-strip Cinerama, I had the privilege of meeting:
John Boulter (From the Black and White Minstrel Show)
    Arthur Lowe
    Sid James
    Stratford Johns
All were charming people and were only too happy to chat.

I the early 90's I worked at The Word of Robin Hood tourist attaction near Sherwood Forest, Nottinghamshire.
I was head of maintenance, and on occasion I would put on a costume and told the tale.
Being a big boned bloke I naturally played Frair Tuck.
Mark Wallington had visited the site and wrote it into his latest novel, Happy Birthday Mr Shakespeare.
The BBC made a film about it and closed the place down for a week for filming.
We were closed over Whitsun, a busy half term period for us. The BBC paid the boss what he had made for the week the previous year.
I spent the week working with Niel Morrisey and Amanda Holden, this was the time they were having an affair......
He was great, a down to earth bloke, We stood in the dinner queue several times together and we had a little chat.
She was aloof and rather stand offish.......
I was wondering if anyone has a copy of this on DVD........

And ever since I first saw The Italian Job at The Odeon, Coventry in 1969 I have wanted to meet Michael Caine.
Well 42 years later, it finally came true, I was at his latest book signing and we spoke for 10 minutes about my favourite film.
I showed him stills from the film and he remembered the coach drivers name. (Fred Toms)
He called him a "Cockney Toe Rag."
    I assume this was a compliment ?
He signed 6 books for me and one was for the Fred Toms son, Mick.
Mick Toms has been on Tours that I organise of the film locations in Italy, in fact he is taking his new wife Julia on the Tour this year to show her where his Dad had his "15 minutes of fame".
2 years ago Matthew Field, the author of "The Making of The Italian Job" book came on my Tour and proposed to his girlfriend Phillappa on the FIAT factory roof !

I am trying to trace people that worked on the film.
I have spoken to the producer and the young lad David Wynn Jones, he's the clapper loader that was hurt in the horiffic accident behind The Villa Regina.
I am looking to trace people like behind the scenes like Chic Waterson, Robin Webb, Gerard Gardel, Chris Bonnet, Nosher Powell, Peter Paten, Derek Ware, Ken Wright who was employed as a welder and mechanic on the film.
