There were quite a few British 3D movies. Suggest you look out for my book "The World of 3D Movies" published back in the 1990s (it's rather amateur but has a mine of info) or the Valencian Film Institute's properly published Spanish language and updated version.
I am currently again updating this works as there are hundreds of films now in the stereoscopic format. Eddie Sammons |

There was also an experiment with Sylverster McCoy's Doctor Who that used an optical illusion caused by the motion of the image and wearing glasses with one tinted lens. It was quite effective as long as the action kept moving. You sometime can achieve a similar effect while watching the horse racing. I've never seen 3-d at the cinema. A few years ago I did look around for a 3-d adapter for my video camera. I shoot underwater video and I thought 3-d film of fish and divers swimming around a wreck would be quite impressive. It would make of for the lack of colour in underwater footage. |

The Diamond (1954) The Night Caller (1965) The Flesh and Blood Show (1972) Four Dimensions of Greta (1972) Not many that most people have heard of ![]() Because of the difficulty in screening them, needing special projectors and/or special glasses, they never did get shown much. And it was often a technique used by films that would have otherwise sunk without a trace in an attempt to garner some interest. Steve |

Again I say look out for my book - the BFI has a copy. You will find virtually all the British (and World) 3D films up to the early 1990s in it - far more than you think. There have been quite a few video presentations since plus a number of films made by the Co-op Film Society in the 1950s have come to light
As far as I know - and that also applies to most of the researchers I know - "Night Caller" was not made stereoscopicallky. Not a bad little film though of its kind. |
