Upstairs Downstairs - the WW1 series has Rose visit a medium to contact the ghost of Keith Barron
Hi.
As its creeping up to halloween I was wondering about films or t.v showings which have had a seance scene in them. I can think of a few:
Seance on a wet afternoon (obviously!)
Blithe spirit
Steptoe and son (with Patricia Routledge as Madame Fontana)
Can anyone think of any more? I think there may have been one in rising damp?
xx

Hound of the Baskervilles with Peter Cook and Dudley Moore
Not British, but my favourite seance scene was in Ed Wood's Night of the Ghouls.
You can see why by the photo - skeletons in wigs at the seance table. Classy!

Ministry of Fear and the David Warner segment of From Beyond the Grave.
A really funny one in OFAH.

Whoever Slew Auntie Roo?
Mystics (2002) with Liam Cunningham, Milo O'Shea and the gorgeous Maria Doyle Kennedy
the episode 'possession' from the 'thriller' tv series
the episode 'prophecy' from the itv series 'chiller'
the 'toffee crisp' commercial from the 1980's!!!!!
UFO - The Cat with Ten Lives. Best episode of a great series.
Not a British film, but I believe "Night of Dark Shadows" originally had a seance scene which is currently being restored--along with many other cut scenes.
Spellbound from 1941 starring Derek Farr
Quite a scary one in the final episode of series one of "Afterlife".

There's a fairly spooky tale included in the compendium from Amicus 'FROM BEYOND THE GRAVE' (1973).
What about the Exorcist??
Thanks everyone, I didnt realise there were that many!!!!!
I think my favorite is still Madame Fontana.
