This is my first post for quite some time - its good to be back

For me it has to be Nine Songs - its just porn with musical interludes (not my type of music though)

I've also heard Shoreditch is pretty awful too but have not had the pleasure of seeing that.

I found 'Brick Lane' very dull, I usually enjoy the Brit-Asian Movies but BL did nothing for me at all

George Formby's biographer David Bret referred to his second film, 'Off The Dole', as "one of the worst British movies of all-time". I personally think it falls into the 'so bad it's good category'... a bit like 'The Romantic Age'!!

I don’t believe it was ever properly finished, and was just put together from what was in the can. I’m told it enjoyed a quite successful release in Japan.

I don't know about decent music but I reckon some 70s funk would have been more appropriate

I could change my mind, but the worst I've seen recently is Hammer's Prehistoric Women. even from a girls in fur bikinis point of view it's a disappointment, as they seemed to hire the skinniest actresses in Britain!

If you think THAT'S bad LB (and I have to agree to some extent) staying in the Hammer vein have you ever braved THE LOST CONTINENT?

That is one hell of a mixed up movie and worth seeing purely for it's 'badness'; it just stops short of getting that twisted 'it's-so-bad-it's-good' award...

I found this film bewildering and bad. I'm afraid I didn't watch the whole of it:

    The Martins (2001)

I think it was a good example of why setting the 'tone' is important. The premise and advertising suggested a fairly light hearted approach, but I left off after watching a scene that felt very much like an episode of Eastenders given over entirely to the Mitchell brothers swearing at each other and this, supposedly, amounting to a searing psychological examination..

Oddly enough, I just looked up the writer and he did write an episode where the Mitchell brothers did just this! Spooky..

It may have improved, but I doubt it, it seemed to me that he didn't have a clear idea of what he was aiming for or examined how he felt about his characters.

name='Bernardo']I really do not like posts of the 'best' or the 'worst'. It is very subjective and empirical. We are all gloriously different. If you must post, add in my opinion (IMO) and try to be objective and not so that if anyone disagrees they are somehow found wanting.

I think that is a fair enough statement, people are looking for different things in their choice of films and even the fairly indisputable level of 'technical' ability etc may not be important to some.

Little point, I think, in anyone taking offense at someone disliking your own choices. If you are sure that you've made a sound judgement, based on your own preferences - why care what other people think?

Surely the IMHO/IMO is a given, taking that a person can only type something from their own perspective? Even if the whole of society agrees on the outcome of the product, it is still only an opinion.
