This sort of amateur hour movie-making is just so boring. It wasn't even realistic. I gave up after about forty minutes, it was simply too tedious to be tolerated. How on earth does stuff like this win *Awards* ? I can understand if people want to do stuff like this - good luck tothem. That's what youtube is for, but how they possibly be "the best". I have watched stuff on youtube that is superior to this.

I suppose these movies follow the tradition of older movies like Kes but there was dialogue and humour and the characters and situations seemed vaguely believable back then. Ah well, no point in complaining about progress I suppose.

I thought Arnold's first film 'Red Road' was better than 'Fish Tank'

Must admit I'm a big fan of Fish Tank but them I'm a fan of Messrs Loach and Leigh so that would probably explain why.

I watched both of these when they were on TV several weeks ago. I thought Red Road was definitely superior, with some superb lighting and cinematography, and it was creepily tense throughout. Tony Curran is brilliant in it as well. I was disappointed with Fish Tank after seeing Red Road, none of that flair or originality that we saw in Red Road; your typical Lottery funded drivel.
