Disappearing Britain

Just watched a programme called Disappearing Britain on History channel, on the Mining Communities of South Wales, and other areas, and he visited all the places that used to have Mines, started off with a Mining disaster, in South Wales about 100 Years ago, can't remember what but some very moving footage of it then it went to more recent events, and All Thatcher goverment and what's there now i.e. Nothing, not quite sure how you can close a Pit that is Uneconomical, and yet bulid Nothing in its place and how the Communities have been totally Devastated as well and Crime rate soaring as well. Ricky Went to look at All of the places where there were once pits, now complely closed thanks to the Thatcher Goverment



Ricky ended the show by saying in a few Years time Thatcher will be burning on the Coals and ALL the Mining Communities will drink to that
