name='Torquemada']BBC axe Survivors and Doctors is next from 14 Apr 2010 - mirror.co.uk

    NOOOOOOO! That's just not on!
The article merely states that it is 'under review' as, I imagine, a lot of other BBC series are at the moment.

Doctors is quite a nice little afternoon series, but that tinny 78 gramophone sounding (IMHO)theme music is very off putting .

Spectacularly dumb comment on the Daily Mirror site from a reader:

NOOOOOO! They can't axe survivors it was ACE. We NEED to know what happens when the plane lands. Most of us only get to watch the telly at night.

Who cares whats on in the day.

The BBC should get rid of some of its Pompous and depressing newsreaders or better still the people behind them who dictate, the tone of the news , that would save them loads!

Yes and then the presenters would return in equally banal trash under a different name

I love my lunchtime fix of Doctors, the plots can be over the top sometimes, but it is always entertaining.

Lets just hope that it doesn't happen!

It must be the only tv soap on every day. When you look back at Crosroads we have come a long way. This week Tracy Childs and Christopher Villiers have been on this week. It will be a shame if it goes.

    I enjoyed it too.

I also loved the one with Margaret John earlier in the week - I don't know how old she is, but she started in How Green Was My Valley 50 years ago!

Without my daily dose of Elisabeth Dermot Walsh and the gorgeous Sophie Abelson, I doubt I could survive

I wish they'd wrap up the Charlie rape storyline though, I really hate that character.

May I express the hope that once they have 'axed' these turkeys, they will spend the money on quality drama, NOT on massive salaries for the alleged 'talent' for more light entertainment (I use the term loosely!)

Clearly every expense was spared (or the money wasted) on the recent "The Silence". Actually, I thought Genevieve Barr was excellent. Can't quite understand why we needed two stereotypical carping wives & an English actor (no doubt expensive) playing a Scot.

It's not often I agree with Alison Graham's rants in Radio Times, but this time I reckon she was right.
