The Informer with the underrated Ian Hendry is perhaps a sad loss to Brit TV history
There must be lots of TV shows which are now unobtainable.
Here's one of my favourites that at least has the sound still intact (albeit only the pilot episode)
The Informer with the underrated Ian Hendry is perhaps a sad loss to Brit TV history
I believe only one episode of Quick Before They Catch Us still exists in the BBC archive but I would love to see it again.
The BBC series Vendetta with Stelio Candelli.
I never saw these the first time round (wasn't born then) but I particularly mourn the loss of:
The Avengers (first series, with Ian Hendry)
Frontier (with Gary Bond)
Mickey Dunne (with Dinsdale Landen)
Villette (with Judy Parfitt)
Mr Aitch (with Harry H Corbett)
Kenilworth (apart from one episode, with Jeremy Brett)
Fraggle Rock (all the Fulton Mackay inserts)
Thirty Minute Theatre (the vast majority of the series)
... and probably many more ...
Not sure if this still exists or not, but I'd like to see it again.
The same guy who made that also made The Magic Boomerang which was another British kids TV staple of my time, and later Spyforce, which was a fantastically crazy series about WW2, with no pretensions of Political Correctness, as there would have been in a British-made show by the Seventies. I cannot imagine it would even be *allowed* nowadays.
PS....
Fraggle Rock no longer exists? It must have been even worse than I remembered....![]()
Any episodes of 'Pathfinders To Mars' still in existence?
Hi Moor
Fraggle Rock does exist in its original American format (it was from the same stable as Sesame Street) but we in the UK had specially produced links for domestic broadcast, which have largely been wiped ...
Nice one Captain :)
The children's drama series Barriers.
All the missing Patrick Troughton Dr who episodes.........Bloody B.B.C.![]()
Barriers isn't missing Freddy, just unreleased as yet.
The first two series of Ace of Wands - love the third one, at least that one is available on DVD.
1. Oscar Peterson from 1980's (any one have it?)
2. The Amazing Years Of Cinema (ditto the appeal)
I know a couple of episodes are out there, but I'd love to re-visit Paulus the Wood-gnome. As far as I'm aware the rest are missing.
Anyone have any more info, how many were made, do more than 2 exist?
How about the lotus Eaters from the early 70's
Both series were released by Network in the last few years.
Amazon Series 1
Amazon Series 2
Not really 'favourite TV series' as I've only seen a handful of episodes but the loss of most of 'Mystery & Imagination' and 'Dead of Night' is disappointing.
