The BBC has pulled the plug on the Reeves and Mortimer hosted comedy 'quiz'! No tears from me I'm afraid-although I'm a Reeves and Mortimer fan,the last two series of 'Shooting Stars' have been tired bordering on embarrassing IMO!

I always liked R&M in almost everything they have done but never liked shooting stars....

I think it had its moments but began to repeat itself and rely upon cathphrases-much like 'The Fast Show' which I've never been much a fan of!

It was very good when it was ground-breaking, for the first series, when the guests didn't know what to expect. But it became stale quite quickly

As said by others, the show was very funny but this latest run was poor in the extreme. Poor old Ulrika, I felt like sending her some recipes for corned beef pasties and stews; to say she needs feeding up is an understatement.

I've been watching some of the older ones on 'Challenge TV' - and they were quite funny then. It's often a big mistake to try and revive a series like that - it seldom works.

I wonder what they'll be repeating in its place?

Completely agree. The old series were fresh and funny. The revival was just weird.

Hardly a surprise - the Beeb didn't, as far as i'm aware, even promote the new series. Writing on the wall.

I think that their ages were also against them, those kind of antics were OK when they were young or youngish but they don't look so good at 50+ As has been said it had a kind of novelty value but it grew stale, I was very surprised that the BBC brought it back.
