I accidently flicked over at the end to see a house on fire and someone lying in the street half burnt to death.
Merry Christmas!
I never watch it now,But My Wife had it on Christmas night. However something frightening occurred to Me,That it was 25 Years to the Day that the Den/Angie divorce,And Arthur Fowler's breakdown were shown.
Where has the time went?
So depressing in many ways, not least to think of the many youngsters who probably stayed up, and watched it as a reflection of adult life in urban Britain now...I'm so glad I grew up when I did and the most watched programme at Christmas was Eric and Ernie's 'bring me sunshine' world. Three channels used to to bring us much more on the box than this year's very uneven Christmas offerings.
Personally my family got through several of ATV's Thriller spooky series from the 1970s - the whopping DVD box set was at last in my Christmas stocking!
Eastenders the most watched programme at Christmas time, what a sad indictment on Christmas TV and the dubious tastes of many TV viewers.
Was this ratings triumph based on the viewing figures for a single episode, or did they add together all the figures from the umpteen episodes that were spread between the various BBC channels?![]()

I believe ratings figures are based on a single showing.
BBC News - EastEnders wins Christmas Day TV ratings battle
I really hope that the 'viewing' figures for 'Eastenders' and 'Coronation Street' represented the British subjects who had fallen asleep in front of the TV after Christmas Dinner.
Soaps should not feature on Christmas Day TV,neither should Sport.
Im sorry Dickens Signalman wasn't shown this year![]()
I made my nephews play board games on Christmas Day. I'm not sure they're ever going to speak to me again![]()
me and my chums played charades..... much more fun than telly......
