The celebrities on were a couple of numpties, and the predicability of the show is getting a bit tired with the usual Ferrari road test, the silly cars routine this time in the guise of police vehicles and of course the Blackadder style of speaking and humour "If you thought this was an expensive car, yoooooo'd be wrong!" "If you think this car looks like a dung beetle with all the performance of a snail in a drought, yooooooo'd be right!" It's just soooooooo tedious and if anyone spoke to you like that in real life you'd probably slap them!

I was channel hopping between Italy's dire performance against Spain in the Euro quarter final, and it was a toss up between Italy's negative approach to the game of football and Top Gear as to which was the dreariest!
I agree with some of the comments, but I still found it amusing and it is still one of the most entertaining programmes on television. I believe the lovely Sabine will be making more appearances on the programme this series.

It is. When I heard what the challenge was I thought they'd be able to get great comic mileage (boom boom) out of it, but nearly all the track-bound challenges fall flat.

The guests in the early days of Star in a Reasonably Priced Car were often far more diverse like Ranulph Fiennes or frequently closet petrolheads like Trevor Eve who took to the challenge with relish. It now seems to be like Johnathan Ross in that they're just plugging a tv show/film and Clarkson doesn't much care for them.

I've seen the interview that Clarkson did with Cowell. You could tell almost instantly that they both took an immediate dislike in each other.

I thought they would get on quite well with each, they seem a similar 'type' as elderly aunts used to say!

In their 'Polar Special' when the team went to the magnetic North Pole, Clarkson did have the honesty to admit that they weren't going there by themselves. During the commentary he did say that there were nine going on this journey (mostly Icelandic) and a Soldier!

'the star in a reasonably priced car'.
I think Simon Cowell returned and took the record again.Yet when Lawrence Dellaglio had a go he was a few tenths of a second shy of the fastest time, but only due to the fact that he weighed in at 18 and a half stones. They argued had he been a similar size to Cowell he'd have beaten him out of sight.
