    Hi.

Switching on the Yesterday channel there is a series called `Hold the dream`, which I`m not familiar with, but the channel often shows a selection of series from long ago. I am just wondering if, as they are certainly popular on this site, they are missing a trick by not showing regular 70`s children`s programmes?

I personally would love to see `Nobody`s House`, follyfoot Farm, and ` The Ghosts of Motley Hall` repeated on the Yesterday channel

What a treat it would be.

They seem to show period or historical dramas which fit in with their remit - I'm not sure if much of vintage children's TV would fit. However there were many dramas set in the past which were transmitted on children's TV and I would love to see some of those again.

Some of the titles you mention Michelle have come out on DVD.

They need to cut down on the number of ad breaks.

I watched Escape from Sobibor on it yesterday and in the early parts of the film they had an ad break every 5 or 10 minutes. But at least once the killings started and then the escape began they ran that without any ad breaks so somebody there has got some sense

Why can't channels put more ad breaks between the films or programmes rather than interrupting them?

I can't imagine many of the advertisers were glad to have their products associated with that film after we'd seen all the families lined up to be taken to the gas chambers

Wasn't this the sequel to "A Woman of Substance" starring Jenny (the plank) Seagrove and our darling Deborah Kerr? From the Barbara Taylor Bradford best sellers - hugely successful tv series here and across the pond, in the 80s?

Yes Hold The Dream is the sequel to A Woman of Substance - I remember both well from their first airing in the 80s.

They showed series one of New Tricks just before Christmas and I wouldn't have said that was historical or period.maybe some of the children's tv series with historical or period settings would find an audience there.
