Sounds ok, although not sure if they could impress me more than Pauline Collins and John Alderton doing Wodehouse.
Looking forward to seeing Timothy Spall in something new.
The BBC are making a new series of P G Wodehouse's Blandings Castle stories with Timothy Spall as Emsworth and Jennifer Saunders as Connie.
Saunders to star in new comedy
Jennifer Saunders and Timothy Spall have signed up for roles in a new BBC One comedy, Blandings.
According to the BBC, the six-part series is based on the work of PG Wodehouse, who wrote a number of stories about the fictional estate of Blandings Castle.
Spall will play Lord Clarence Emsworth, the master of the Castle, while Saunders, who is currently working on a movie adaptation of her hit comedy Absolutely Fabulous, will star as his sister Connie.
Guy Andrews, who will write and star in the show, described Blandings Castle as "dysfunction junction, the home of a chaotic family struggling to keep itself in order."
He added: "For any writer, it is the rarest privilege imaginable to have Wodehouse legitimately available as source material instead of just stealing from him as we usually do."

According to an article in The Times yesterday, they're having trouble casting the porcine star of the piece.
Dawn French?

I'm ok with Jennifer Saunders, just, but no more comedians, this is comic literature and is best played by character actors not stand ups who have turned their hands to acting. I was never convinced by Fry and Laurie and that bloody music butting in every five minutes, hope there's a role for Richard Briers although he is getting on a bit.
