'Day of Execution' still counts as my favourite episode. Possibly because it's the first episode I remember watching - I could still watch that again, although it's the early 90's since I last saw any episodes.
That particular episode had the bonus that he wasn't saddled with a Hillman Imp for once. I seem to remember it featured a Ford Zephyr 6 - possibly filmed in a pre-pedestrianised Kingston upon Thames, though my memory may have faded. |

The Imp was absolutely perfect for McGill. No flash sports car for him.
This is from the official British Leyland publicity for the car: "Women like the Imp for the lift-up rear window and fold-flat rear back rest which make it an ideal shopping car. All models have radial ply tyres and the Super Imp comes with a simulated wood grain facia." |

![]() I once knew a couple in their Nineties. It must have been around 1988. They still drove a Hillman Imp, which they'd had from new!! |

I remember watching this when I was very young, and actually thinking he lived in a suitcase. What didn't help was that he once referred to his suitcase as something like "it's a place to sleep"(?). Very confusing!
My favourite episode is the one with Rodney Bewes threatening to jump in the Thames. |
