Microbes and Men

Anyone remember this short series shown on BBC2 in 1974 ?

6 dramatised accounts of the early work of pioneers in microbiology.

Sounds a bit dreary but it was absolutely superb. Gave the great Arthur Lowe a chance to have a break from his Cpt. Mainwaring personna.

And it was scored by Dudley Simpson at his best.

Ah Yes, the Soviet Union. All them wheatfields and ballet in the evenings
