Funniest :
Rowan Atkinson in the Barclaycard ads
Rowan Atkinson in the Kronenburg lager ads
A car ad from the 70s/80s with the Two Ronnies. Can't remember the make but Barker plays the showroom salesman and Corbett plays a dodgy criminal type
No celebs involved but that clever Carling ad in the 80s featuring a shoot-out in the old West which then spills over into perfume and supermarket ads.

Worst :
The Post Office ads with Joan Collins, Bill Oddie etc. Not marvellous and ill timed considering all the closures.

Yep. He was doing his Arthur Daley thing - "Nice Little Earner".

But he sticks in my mind for the interminable ads he did with David Bailey for Olympus cameras - "David Bailey ? - 'Ooo's 'ee ?"

Ah Yes, the Soviet Union. All them wheatfields and ballet in the evenings

It amazes me that people still shop at Tesco because all their hard earned cash is paying for hordes of celebrities to appear in their adverts, and I bet they get their Christmas goodies delivered by Fortnum and Mason!

Morrisons have chosen one ex-football celebrity instead, the dour, boring Alan Hanson who ironically has all the charisma of a Morrisons lard-filled pie!

I remember Oliver Reed and Paula Yates advertising something in the mid-80s. Cannot for the life of me remember what it was though...

It was that horrible alcohol-free white wine Eisberg. The ad was supposed to be ironic.

So he goes on to drink himself to an early grave and she takes the same route via drugs.

Some good thinking doing on there.

Are you saying that they've only got Alan Hansen?
I've lost count of the number of celebs in this year's Morrisons ads - including Denise van Outen and Lulu.

Yeah Bats, I definitely remember Gareth Hunt doing the `hand-shaking` bit. Must be mistaken about Lumley then - though I`m sure she was in an advert during her `Purdey` days.

He was joined by other celebrities during the run of the ads ... Liza Goddard comes to mind but I'm not sure if she was in them or not.

I think Joanna did an ad for Head and Shoulders in her Purdy days.

Bats.
