Default Dennis Potter

It seems that the great man himself didn't do us any favours by insisting that his two final works were broadcast by the BBC and Channel 4.

I refer to "Karaoke" and "Cold Lazarus". For all their faults it was superb TV drama.

Now the two TV companies can't reach an agreement allowing DVD or video release or even a repeat showing.

So we are denied a chance to actually watch something worthwhile whilst the BBC can go on churning out celeb ballroom stuff and Channel 4 can do likewise with twats in jungles.

Ah Yes, the Soviet Union. All them wheatfields and ballet in the evenings

I thought that Karaoke was very good and Cold Lazarus not so good. I think Potter peaked with the Singing Detective.

Just another example of the apparent indifference TV companies have for their viewers. Perhaps if someone told them Karaoke was about a celebrity karaoke contest they'd screen it!

Bats.

Just say "It's Karaoke with Richard E. Grant, Liz Smith and lots of other well known people". You don't have to say it's a contest, that would be fibbing

Let people leap to their own assumptions
