I guess that's why we all collect DVDs and hoard old tapes though?

I watched and enjoyed Merry Christmas, a very good film I thought about the Christmas truce in WW1

Where's the variety?
Expect more of that Bill Turner!! It's an American tradition that drives me nuts!! And it was the first thing I noticed about US telly when I experienced my first Christmas in the USA.

As an aside, when I watched the "Christmas" TV during my very first USA Christmas in 1979, the soaps (which flooded the TV schedules) did not even have a Christmas flavour to them!!! They were run-of-the-mill everyday episodes!!! I often used to joke that if a Martian landed in the USA during Christmas week, he would never know it was Christmas from watching the terrible TV offerings!!

Admittedly these days all USA soaps have some sort of Christmas episode...comforting if soaps are your thing...

Sounds like Christmas on British TV has deteriorated a lot over the years..
