Default One the Buses - alternative titles

I've just bought a cd of '60's' adverts and there is a few seconds worth of what looks like the start of an 'On The Buses', however the cartoon bus is RED not GREEN and there is a cartoon ticket machine too dispensing a ticket with Luxton & District.

Now the use of that title on the ticket means its the TV series and not the films (which were Town and District) but the sequence does not appear on any of the episodes that are in the boxed set. so does anyone know anything about them?

Might be worth checking out the official OTB site and asking them.

You can put it on YouTube and then include a link to it on YouTube in your message here

Hmm, odd one that, it's certainly the OTB theme tune.

I also have the complete Buses box set and must say that I have not seen your clip before.
Maybe it was a television promo for the series.

Notice how the title music is different too. Normally the bell rings before the theme tune starts and is not normally heard amongst the music as on the clip.

Dave.

Starring Dom DeLuise - not in the gloomy "Blakey" role but as Stan Butler (called Stanley Belmont in this)

The American version didn't last very long - despite being nominated for a Golden Globe. It's never been shown here but if you really want to see it you can buy it from places like Amazon.com

But did they drive red double decker buses in the US version?

I suspect that there were no conductors used on US buses either.

Dave.

The 'ticket' on the ticket machine at the end does show 'Luxton & district' so i still think its for the Uk version
