Im enjoying the re runs of UFO on freeview at the moment, I can't help thinking though that Anderson wanted to make a very gradual transition from puppets to humans and hence tried to make the UFO characters a sort of hybrid with most of the actors wearing quite awful puppet style wigs (especially Straker's) which gives them a slightly unreal puppet quality!
