Default Billy Bunter

I listened to radio 4 programme Billy Bunters Birthday bash on tuesday morning with Gyles Brandreth, its a 100 years since he first appeared in the comic the magnet. The parts that brought back memories for me were the sound recordings of the 1950's bbc series with the great Gerald Campion playing Bunter, along with Kynaston Reeves playing Mr Quelch,I think Anthony Valentine played Harry Wharton.
It was broadcast live and went out twice on the same evening once for children and later for adults.

A couple of the Bunter tv episodes are available on Google video - search for Billy Bunter. If you can bear watching through the fog you can see some youthful celebs.

Does anyone know the familiar face of the actor who played cherry in the series?

I already posted about this as I heard it last week too. I don't however remember the sound recording, only the TV series. Gerald Campion for me IS the owl of the Remove, but I sort of see Anthony Valentine in Colditz!
