One of my favourite Tales of The Unexpected stories is A Picture of a Place starring Jessie Matthews as a Forger. Brilliant episode

Hi Bats,
Pardon my ignorance but what is a "runner"?

Regards,
Edward G.

It's a polite term for a "gopher"

It's a junior member of a film or TV crew who has to run around doing various odd jobs. They are told to "gopher this", "gopher that", hence the alternative name

Thanks Chaps.
Still, Bats, was probably a way of meeting a lot more people than if you were a static "fixture". Seems to me that you have taken with you a lot of good memories from those days...

I remember ROYAL JELLY making a distinct impression on me when I first saw it - I had read most of the original TALES at school. Latterly, revisiting the various series on DVD, I really enjoyed (Sir) Alfred Burke's contribution in THE FLYPAPER and (of course) will always have a soft spot for THE VORPAL BLADE, because Batman's friend was in it... Top man !!

I remember the one with the couple in Austria where the wife was about to give birth, she had lost babies before, this one was born healthy. It turned out to be Adolf Hitler.

I also remember one, although not very clearly which was something about the husband who kept either wasps or bees and as far as I remember he turned into one at the end.

Oh yeah, and the one with Ron Moody as the wine conousier (sp?) who made his friend bet the hand of his daughter that he could pass the wine taste test

The Bees was the divine Timothy West who turned into a bee.

The only one I remember watching (when I was a wee slip of a lad) had Richard Johnson in it. If I remember rightly, he buried his wife's body under the patio. Anyone know that episode?

Decoy with Susan Penhaligon:I think it was on last night. Did it also star John Duttine,Brenda Blethyn and Ray Lonnen (whatever happened to him)?

I liked all of those episodes but I especially like the theme music by Ron Grainer, I used to think that was brilliant.
