I am in agreement with the exception of The Office, but I must qualify that by saying that first time round it was funny! Unlike normal sitcoms like Dad's Army, Steptoe and Son, The Likely Lads and other classic favourites it is not something that you can watch over and over again. The cringeworthy factor only works once, after that it becomes tedious.

Catherine Tate to me is just not funny, Alan Partridge was dated even in the early 90s and I just do not understand why anyone thinks that Rob Brydon should wear a comedy hat. In fact much of this newish style of snide comedy was nicked from The Office, and Little Britain seems to have taken a lot of its ideas from The League of Gentlemen comedy series !

"...the chairman of Littlewoods stores made a Keynote speech!"

Maybe her humour doesn't appeal to me,but I find Catherine Tate quite sexy - not her characters, just Ms Tate herself!

Me too Straff!........and Dynasty too!, did you know there are people who know every single episode of Dallas and Dynasty inside out, scene by scene, word for word, and I thought I was a Saddo!

As for Knobbykins list, Catherine Tate is top of my faves tree, closely followed by Little Britain, I can take or leave the others listed.........

I quite like Rob Brydon and Alan Partridge is ok in small doses but I agree with you on the others.
I find the Mighty Boosh partcularly tiresome.

I enjoyed a Scottish comedy called "Chewin The Fat". Whenever I mention this, someone will usually say "Nah, never heard of it mate". Ford Keirnan I reply, and they walk away! Mmmmmm. (Thinks, did I imagine it?).

Have a search around this forum. You're far from alone in disliking The Orifice

i think the office is really funny, and i quite like the mighty boosh and alan partridge is absolute pure genius. the rest are crap. especially little britain. i thought i was the only person who doesnt find it funny. i've sat through a few episodes and very rarely raise a smile. i find the humour very 'basic', for instance when the old lady vomits or pisses herself, when i was 10 i would've rolled around the floor laughing, but not now, i actually cringe (i must be getting old). i found the same thing in max and paddy's road to nowhere. after creating 2 superb series of laugh out loud humour with pheonix nights, road to nowhere in comparison seemed really uninspired, (but still funny in parts)
