i was gutted that gary holton died, he would have been in some brilliant stuff in the last 20 years. apparently they were planning series 3 after series 2 where the lads go off to russia, it sounds like it would've been great. has anybody noticed gary holton in quadrophenia? i'm sure he's one of the rockers who beats spider up when his scooter has broken down

If anyone's seen "The Bank Job", Jason Stathams character is called Terry Leather. The Costa Del Crime figure in Auf series 2.

The Bank Job was of course written by Clement and La Frenais. Nice touch.

One of the best series ever made,the later series were brilliant but was never the same without Gary Holton. And I disagree with someone above, Jimmy Nail was brilliant in Spender and Crocodile Shoes , I still watch them again and again also.D

Gary was also a brilliant underrated musician with the Heavy Metal Kids and once turned down the vocal job with AC/DC after the death of Bon Scott.He was also in Hazel O Connors band at the beginning of Breaking Glass.
