Thumbs down Harry Worth Is He Forgotten

Does anyone agree that Harry Worth is now largely forgotten. This is agreat pity as his patricurar brand of comedy was very endearing. I was only a child when his Heres Harry sitcom was on BBC, but I was old enough to appreciate it.

Wasn't so fussy on his sketch series for ITV, "Thirty Minutes Worth." or his subsequent sit coms for the network.

The great comedy writers David Renwick and Andrew Marshall once wrote a radio sitcom for him.

No chance of a Harry revival, I dont think the BEEB have many of those old shows in the archive.

Also have fond memories of his ads for television rental shops in the seventies Civic I beleive was the shop in question.

I just remember being impressed by his arms/legs routine in the shop window. The early days of special effects

I remember him. The way the old comedy guys are being talked about now, he's probably lucky to be forgotten.

He was bizarrely miscast as William Boot in an adaptation of Evelyn Waugh's Scoop.

Thats the joke that killed the Music Hall !

He'll always have one little footnote in broadcasting history - Here's Harry was first normal programme on the BBC after the news of JFK's assassination came through.

I liked Harry Worth ... not laugh out loud funny, but always able to provide one with a gentle smile.

I loved Harry Worth and Arthur Haynes , and we never hear of them now, mabye wouldnt find them so funny now , things change and yet I still laugh at Abott and Costell, the child in me I suppose.

Not so sure about that one. According to IMDb she was born Cathryn Helen Wigglesworth.
