Default A Child's Christmas In Wales (1987)

My Grandparents remember seeing this on TV a long time ago. It does not seem to be on video. Does anyone remember this film, or know of any other film treatments of Dylan Thomas' book?

I've never seen that one but there is information about it at the IMDb. It appears to be available on video in Canada & the US.

The 1972 production of Under Milk Wood is generally quite good and true to the original although it's still a mystery as to what Liz Taylor is doing there. The best version of Under Milk Wood though remains the original BBC radio recording (IMHO). It was subtitled "A Play for Voices" and the pictures are better on radio :)

Just as I sat down to watch "UNDER MILK WOOD" they stopped talking English and started talking Welsh.

That's a great trick used in village pubs in Wales. They'll look at you as you come in and if they don't like the look of you, then suddenly they can only speak Welsh. But offering to buy them a drink helps them to remember that they can speak English.

They don't talk much Welsh in Under Milk Wood because Dylan Thomas couldn't speak Welsh :)
