Can't remember too much about it myself (way too young you see) but I do remember watching it because of cutie Wendy Padbury!

I think it was some sort of boys own adventure series, with a team of do-gooders repelling the baddies. Sorry to be so vague, but it was just too long ago. Had a cracking theme tune!

As a kid I always preferred Ace of Wands, but then again, probably because I fancied Judy Loe (Richard Beckinsale's missus) - and now I fancy her daughter!

I hated Tottering Towers and The Flaxton Boys which were on round about the same time. Not that I watched much TV when I was ten of course!

Cheers
Nigel

A young Tom Owen (Bill Owens son). You also brought to mind ORLANDO, the childrens series with the ever present Sam Kydd. Wasn't the car he drove one of those amphibious vehicles which are now making a return and are being built on the IOM.

Thanks Steve -

She's checked out IMDb :)

The 'gauntlet' is still down to Ollie though, as she knows how he likes a good tune....dunno if SHE remembers it herself though ? Must do, otherwsie she can't verify it. (Doh Smudge !)

I am sure he will rise to it admirably (or go hysteric trying !)

A bit late for a reply, but I'm new to this forum... I happen to run a website about KAPITEIN ZEPPOS, called Adventurer: The Unofficial Kapitein Zeppos Dossier which should answer any and all questions about the series.

In a nutshell, it was a Belgian series that the BBC imported and dubbed into English (and re-edited a tad, I believe). They broadcast it from October 1966 to February 1967. There were two subsequent Zeppos serials in 1968, but neither of these were dubbed into English. The BBC only ever showed 'Captain Zeppos' the once, AIUI.

Best wishes,

Sabos

I have the MP3 tune to Captain Zeppos. It is called "Living it UP" by Bert Kaempfert. As a kid I had a single of the track and played it incessantly... it is very "swinging Safari" "walk in the Black Forest"...brilliant.

All I recall of the programme was the opening titles..to the music....the captain and some youths travel through the modern roads of a Belgium city, underpasses etc, on an Austin Jeep open top. Adventures and fun followed.

Post Freewheelers

Is there a DVD company planning to release the Childrens Programme 'Freewheelers'.

All the surviving material (including the First series ?) together would make a good Box set of this well remembered TV series.
