i dont know about you but when I was in school from 1964 to 1976, I mostly saw school programmes when I was off sick from school. I rarely saw Schools programmes in school.
Schools television programmes were of a very high standard in the seventies and I partirucarly remember programmes like,"Living and Growin." "Rules , Rules, Rules."and Scene. I preferred dramatised programmes like "SCENE." rather than watch Maths and Scienes programmes. There was a music programme where they would show a music score and each note would light up acomapnied by dreadful tunes. In later years, the pop groug Human League had a hit which had a tune very similar to the type of thing heard on that music programme. |

I remember Alan Rothwell on Picture box and other schools programmes, prior to that he played David Barlow brother of Ken on Corrie. HE was also very busy on radio acting in loads of plays

what about 'Joe and the Sheep Rustlers' It had a great little tune I used to sing along to. And does anyone remember that animated musical thing set in Zanzibar with songs like 'Jungle Rain' in it? Very early 70's I think.I was transfixed by the black and white clock which counted down the minute before a prog started.Cross your legs and BE QUIET!

i can remember watching badger girl and geordie racer when i was off sick as a child. i feel sorry for kids today having access to so much tv. when i was little there was only 4 channels, so when i was off school it would be schools programmes, then neighbours, then going for gold. then i'd have to wait for philip scofeild because there was nothing else on! it was a pain at the time but i'd rather have sat through all that than watch big cook little cook all day!
