Red face Extra Programmes And Fillers

I have fond memories as a child of the days when ITV would show cartoons as time fillers if a film had finished earlier than scheduled, the sudden appearane of Bugs Bunny would be most welcome.

Also I recall seeing short musical intervals by the gospel singer Mahalia Jackson, Rolf Harris singing Tie Me Kangaroo Down Sport, The New Christy Minstrels, not sure if they were early promotional films preursors of pop videos or clips from shows that had been released for syndication as time fillers.

Happy Days!

Anyone seeing Rolf sining Tie Me Kangaroo would imediately switch off and bemoan the fact that television interludes had gone down hill since the days of the Potters Wheel on BBC in the previous decade.
