Didn't Robin Houston used to do it for channel 4.He was alright until he started doing that 100% quiz.God help us.Mind you, if you need to make yourself feel reasonably smart, 100% is just the ticket. What happened to Bob Holness?

If you have a search around the Transdiffusions site you can find pictures of many of the announcers from long gone stations such as Rediffusion and TWW, and even some audio samples of their work.

Aunty Mu. Muriel Young.
How I remember her with Pussycat Willum reading out letters and birthday greetings and then introducing the next prog. I would like to think she would probably be remembered by most here as the continuity announcer during "I'm Alright Jack" when all hell breaks lose when Stanley spills the beans on what's going on. Happy Days and fondest memories of an early childhood. _______________ Hooked off the line |
